The new share screen using uh powerpoints has a virtual background this is super dope so same same as before you’re just going to hit share screen, so you have the basic and advanced app.
You want to go ahead and switch over to advanced you’re going to see this option to the left which is powerpoint as virtual mac one thing you want to know.
Make sure that you have your power point saved ahead of time, so i’m going to go ahead and show you guys this feature live stop sharing and wait for it all right.
So as you can see I am here projected onto the power points um, Iam like in a little box right here, what’s really cool about this feature is one your the engagement level.
You’re going to be catching students by surprise like they’re like whoa i did not expect to be uh flying around in this screen like that so you can kind of shift to the right and to the left.
You can put yourself um wherever you like, you can make yourself bigger i’m not sure, why you would do that but what’s really cool though is you can kind of emulate the whiteboard features.
So for example like if you want to talk about something like oh make sure you guys are paying attention to the deadline right here or Zoom version 5.3. 2.
So you can kind of really like get creative with it be there be the creative innovative educator that you are all right, so as Iwas saying um as you’re sharing two screens.
You can have one advisor let’s say for like for our regional or regional presentations what we can do is we’re doing a live walkthrough of the uc application right.
We’ll have one person one host sharing their screen as a power point so giving bullet points of the things that we’re talking about, so students are able to go easily back and forth to the two shared screens.
So one will be uh you know the bull points on the other would be an advisor who’s going live going through the application, so that they’re able to follow along and also utilize a powerpoint just in case they missed.
Any key information or anything that you want to highlight, so Ijust wanted to quickly mention that I know we’re on the breakouts breakout room so this is super super cool.
So what’s been going on here is with a new update before with breakout rooms, you have to either auto assign or manually assign them into breakout rooms and it was a very tedious task right.
So now you have the option and you create your breakout rooms to allow participants to join breakout rooms so they can actually pick so what’s going to happen on their screens as.
You see in the image above me right over here, so that’s going to be what their toolbar is going to look like right, so what they’re going to do is if they have their chat box open it’s going to like kind of like minimize the screen.
So they’re going to have that three three dots right there the more um so they’re going to click that and they’re gonna have join break everything next they’re.
Gonna have a pop-up like this one right here so they’re gonna have all these uh breakout rooms, so you can list them out so what i did for my college at fortnight all my partners this is just an example by the way um.
I just visited all my partners and then so each each representative was in their own room and students were allowed to just really join the rooms who’s really emulating that college fair experience right.
So like if they’re virtually tabling or if they’re at a college fair they’re trying to walk to different tables it kind of uh emulates that so it’s a really cool feature uh it’s honestly came out during the most perfect time.
When a lot of these big scale events are going to be happening so uh get creative with that and utilize how you would like, so as you can see there’s two participants it’s me.
And then i actually that’s not best me on my cell phone but on the left hand side that’s on the right hand side, you can actually move your screen to the right to the left or uh prior.
You would have to have participants hide themselves and hide speaker view in order for whoever’s talking to be highlighted as a panelist but now as a host, you can pin a panel of people by going to whichever.
Top right screen of whoever you want to be pinned or spotlighted so for example for me myself, so now as i’m speaking everyone even if they don’t have a setting on it’s just going to be a default for the room.
Everyone can see me as a speaker as a presenter, i’m spotlighted even if someone else is speaking over me my screen will still remain, on uh as the main screen.
So here we are with video settings and enhancements really really dope new uh video enhancements so originally the default setting for your camera especially.
If you’re using the berkeley dc ac laptop it’s going to go to the original ratio which kind of pixelates your, your video and also creates a lot more or a lot less bandwidth or your body is really deteriorating.
So what you want to do is switch to hd which really helps with the quality of your video especially, if you’re going to be using this powerpoint feature it helps you not be.
So choppy so i can freely move like this and it’s not that bad in terms of like lag so uh another thing too is you have this touch up my appearance, so that also really really works well in supplementing the hd feature really cool.
And then going into now we have video settings and enhancements so really cool so this isn’t this better face but you have filters, so you can add sunglasses there as you can see me.
Um you can also add eyebrows color your eyebrows your mustache your lip color all that good stuff um it’s really really cool to see but uh let’s let’s see how it faced helps once.
You are with students and uh before, i end this real quick i am gonna uh stop sharing my slides and just show you the live effect of some of these filters which are really cool that.
You can utilize for icebreakers getting creative my favorite, I’m at the movie theater my students are watching me, I’m a movie life’s a movie super dope and of course.
You have the sunglasses that, I showed earlier different things maybe you might get an idea of virtual graduation they all got virtual caps very uh really, really cool so those are some of the features there’s a lot more features um but.
